I finished the stole I was working on and have started another. So far, it amuses me.

The girls and I went sliding today. Or rather they did. The hills in the school yard behind our house are now so slick no sled is required to shoot down them a mom-worrying speed. So after the Kindies get out there is a party on the hills.

Naturally there are tears. Both of them from my kids. The littlest princess claimed she bonked her head while sliding. I admit I missed the actual bonking. The kids tend to slide in bunches, so a boot to the head is not unusual.

Drama Queen managed to fall walking up the stairs. Nothing serious, she just gave her knee a good thump. I asked if she wanted to go home and got a snifly, teary, "nooo." Again, she's fine. But my kids are not having much luck on the hills this year.

I'm embroidering. And its looking pretty good. But it's slow going. Then again I'd likely go faster if I didn't pretend to not see it day after day. Often it calls to me but as a mom, I'm good at tuning out repetitive voices.

It all started with a banner. One I made last Christmas for the church I attend. The minster asked for it, I made it, all was well. I was not entirely happy with the banner but everyone else seemed to be so I let it go.

Last spring I got a call from a woman about to be ordained. She asked me to make her 2 stoles in the space of one month. One for her and a friend. Someone had given her my name based on the banner. I told her I'd do it. That fell through, turned out she was given 4 stoles so didn't need anymore. No biggie.

Minister who knows I'm trying to find work to do from home so I can SAHM told me to make the stoles anyway and he'd help get my name out as someone who does this sort of work. I can embroider, and quite well too. So started in, gave up, started again, gave up again....this went on for a while but I am now the the point where I can see the finish. I hope to be done by Friday? Maybe? Its possible now anyway.

New year, new shamelessly ripped off moto.

Wait..I'm going to get the book so I write the quote properly.

Ok, I'm back.

You can take your pick here. Either the book version,

"I might find somewehre I can finish my book. I have thought of a nice ending for it -and he lived happily ever after to the end of his days."

Or the movie version.

"I've thought of an ending for my book. -And he lived happily ever after to the end of his days."

Ok, Happily ever after might be shooting for a bit much in a New Year's resolution but why the heck not? It sounds like a pretty darn good option to me. And I know its not going to work ever single day, I'll be happy with say....98% of the time. Happy mom makes for happy kids right? Because I'd be working on helping them to be happy and fulfilled. At least, if my girls are happy then I will be. Circle see? And you know, if the Crypt Keeper is in a good mood then I guess we'd just be a big disgusting bundle of good times.

So. This means reigning in the impatience a bit. Or alot. Which given The Drama Princess's antics will require a ton of will power. I may not have any left for working out or any of those usual resolutions.

Other resolutions. A family vacation would be nice. We haven't done one of those. Finding Crypt Keeper's buddies and reconnecting face to face would be grand too. We know where they are, mostly, sort of anyway. It would be nice to see them...even if singing is involved.

2 posts in one year??!! Wow!

Aren't I the dedicated blogger. Maybe I'll have better luck keeping this thing up to date in the new year. I'm surprised I haven't kept this up. A lot of ups and downs this past year. Granny's gone, Gramma Marshall's gone too. I've done craft shows. Made a good friend but am watching her slip away, not in a bad way, in a very busy type way. Have danced lots and been very hurt there. Found a way to scramble past that...or almost anyway. Became briefly obsessed by hobbits, jedis and hair dreads. Ok the hair is still an obsession.

The girls continue as before. Wonderful, amusing, hairpulling kids they are. The picture of my destructive child mentioned further back in this blog did become a painting. Search Doug Macbean to see it.

The baby is well, not a baby anymore. So smart its scarey. Even the cats know better than to mess with her. And she's not shy about letting her sister have it either.:)

And here we go again

I bought twochicktea. (twochicktea.com) Its supposed to aid in weight loss. It tastes quite nice, although I prefer it hot to cold and since I drink an insane amount of tea each day its no biggie to sub it in for my regular tea. (or hot chocolate) Esp since I have to drink 1/2 gallon of it each day.

And tonight I start piloties...oh hell I've been changing the spelling on that word for 5 mintues now. Figure it out, lol.

Had bellydance Monday night. It was fun as always. Have other bellydance on Saturday morning.

Have also applied for numerous jobs but this is nothing new. I've been applying for two years now and have gotten *1* interview. I don't think the gods what me to work. But on the upside, I got 3 applications for craft shows in the mail. So I'm giving them a shot. Real craft shows, not just little church bazzares where all these old dolls ohh and awww at my baby blankets and then day they have no babies to buy for.

So today... so far, tea, a granola bar, tea, taboulie salad with grilled portabello mushrooms.

...off to have more tea.

So I'm very bad at this...

And apparently should not be attempting a blog as I just got taken to task over the fact that my lj is not up to date either.

What can I say, I'm a busy bundle of hot-mama-ness. At the moment (knock wood) we are illness free in our little world...ok I have a cold but that doesn't count.

I *must* have a cold because I did not have one yesterday and tomorrow I get to go out for my birthday. Bring on the germs.

Last slug of tea, far too sweet. I think I'm going off sugar...sort of. I mean its still one of my first loves. Just sugar in me tea I mean.

Cold. Short sleeves, not so bright an idea.

Oh heck I don't know. I have letters to serge. later.
